How are things going, how is the work progressing, or how is life treating you?

“How’s she cutting with the silage this week?”

Tiny candy sprinkles placed on ice cream, doughnuts, and other desserts; some speakers use the word especially for chocolate sprinkles.

“Can I get chocolate jimmies on that cone?”

Groceries, shopping, or small errands to be collected.

“I’m heading down for the messages—do we need milk?”

A soft drink or fizzy drink, especially in older, regional, or hospitality-related usage.

“Will you have tea or a mineral?”

A sly, untrustworthy, smooth-talking, or underhand person.

“Watch that sleeveen when the money is being counted.”
